BPC managed the $33M Peguis School project for up to 1200 Nursery to Grade 12 students. The building replaced the existing school originally built in 1958, with its seven subsequent additions. Phase I of the project was the elementary facilities, and Phase II included high school, technical and administrative areas. BPC worked closely with the Band in negotiating for funding and managing the hiring of consultants and specialists. The school is being built by the Peguis Development Corporation (PDC), with PCL Construction acting as Construction Manager for PDC.
In conjunction with the Peguis School project, a water treatment plant was built with a fire pump to serve the school and the rest of the community. This project also involved the expansion of the existing sewage lagoon and the development of a subdivision of 25 teacherages requiring water, sewer and telephone services. The upgrading of existing roads was also included in order to meet standards for school bus traffic.
